You might have seen this recent post on Desire to Inspire… a gorgeous bright white interior…. well, the space was styled by Myrica Bergqvist (here and here), Swedish furniture and product designer-cum-interiors stylist, and my new favourite. Her interiors are playful and original, even odd, but they are also relaxed and natural. We at The Colonies love magical interiors that manage to avoid looking stuffy or too “done”. This is a technique the scandos never seem to struggle with (even if I do say so myself
).
Clarification: Myrica specialises in styling existing spaces for photoshoots and editorial work. Please see her comments below! Thanks Myrica!
My favourite snaps of her work:

pin trays were an accidental discovery. i was searching one day for much larger trays and came across loads of smaller, decorative, and special little pin trays. many of them have enormous personality and the most interesting colour palettes to design around. they’re little bursts of inspiration and humour. here are a few that we are selling on etsy as well as some others i’ve come across along the way.

Wall-mounted lights are one of my favourite things. They are great space savers (think bedside or above a sofa) as well as fabulous finishing touches to your home art gallery or bookcase.
Here are a few finds:
This would be great on the top of a bookcase or over a painting. From Holloways of Ludlow.
How about this one, eh? From SkinFlintDesign.
An original Herbert Terry Anglepoise as a bedside reading lamp, sigh. From 30-Something.
A pair of these slapped symmetrically above a sofa? From Historic Lighting.
And no lighting post would be complete without a contemporary Anglepoise – available in a range of colours. From Anglepoise.com.
