Made a Mano creates lava stone, also known as basalt, tiles with patterns that are based on ancient templates and with colour that is applied by hand. They are absolutely stunning. In London, Made a Mano can be found at the Tom Dixon showroom. They also make equally beautiful countertops and sinks.

i recently stayed at the St. Pancras Renaissance London Hotel which has just completed a multi-million pound renovation to restore it to its original glory…and let me tell you it was glorious.
my favourite bit of knowledge about the old hotel was that the room they now call “The Ladies Smoking Room” was once the first room in all of Europe that allowed women to smoke in public – gasp! now of course no one can smoke indoors in England – so there. here are a few photos i snapped:
